Danny "Big Slick" Walker has arrived in Vegas and is warming up for the Main Event playing in the many satellites offered in the Amazon Room. Danny, you will remember, cashed at the WPT for a cool $100,000 earlier this year. Going deep into this year's Main Event will make that amount seem like pocket change!!

This weekend Brandon "Speed Poker" Blake leaves for the series. Brandon has been tearing up the high dollar tourneys lately and hopefully can keep his streak alive at the Rio! I believe Jamie Smith, another solid player, will be entering a few events with him. I'll post all their reports as i get them.

Coming to the end of day 1 of the $1500 WSOP RAZZ, Danny Walker of Wasilla is sitting in 15th place with 59 players left.

There were 409 entrants and the 1st place money is $139,756.00

It's just past 5 a.m. in Vegas and the RAZZ players have finished for the night. Danny is now sitting in 26th place with $11,300 chips. There are 40 players left. I just got off the phone with Danny and he mentioned he lost a key hand right at the end of play that would have had him at over $25,000. There are only 5 or 6 players with more than $20k so he's still right there with a chance at the bracelet. We wish him good luck and will update after play resumes tomorrow at 4 PT.

He is still hovering around the average chip stack but mentioned he just overplayed AK and took a hit or could have been much higher. He's at a tough table with both "Mimi" Tran and Layne Flack..will keep you posted!

Brandon is very excited and anyone who knows him will know what i mean...he's a great guy and i'm really hoping he can pull this off!! I'm sure whatever happens it has been a blast for him.... he has been running really good lately and i've got a good feeling even though he is one of the smaller chip stacks. He's getting ready for the action to start in about an hour..we'll keep you posted.

There is a slight delay to the start as players verify their chips, etc. Brandon is at table 122 and has side-stepped the big stacks but still has some tough pros including David Levi seated with him. The cards will be in the air momentarily.

Great News!!! Brandon has climbed to $33,000.00

We have him on the phone, he's currently on break.

Brandon made a set with pocket nines against pocket tens!! He said it must be clean living!!!

He was at Hellmuth's table for 45 minutes and witnessed a big Phil blow-up!!

Great news, i thought the airline reservations would jinx him but i think it helped!!! fingers crossed!

Brandon takes a big hit!!!! Player moves all in with pocket sixes, Brandon calls from the small blind with A 9. Brandon flops a nine but opponent Juha Helppi hits a set!!
Brandon loses $30,000 and is in bad shape. Let's get lucky!!!

Blinds now at $2000 - $4000 with a $500 ante.

Can't get a current chip count but Brandon needs to double up for sure!

Great News!!! The report was wrong, they wrongly reported that it was Brandon...see i knew he wouldn't have played A9 !!!! ;)

Here's his new table...a tough one!

Table 120

1 - Jennifer "Jennicide" Leigh

2 - Juha Helppi

3 - Ross Boatman

4 - Rob Hollink

5 - John Spadavecchia

6 - Brandon Blake

7 - Humberto Brenes

8 - Shane Schleger

9 - Han Nguyen

Blogger Alaska Poker Association said...

Phil Hellmuth has a huge 360,000 chip stack....ripe for a Brandon picking!!!

5:41 PM
Blogger Alaska Poker Association said...

Brandon falls to a sick one!!!

A player raises, Brandon re-raises all-in with QQ, Humberto Brenes comes over the top and has Brandon covered. Original raiser has 99, Brenes has AA !!! The board doesn't help our hero and Brandon is eliminated :(

Brandon is pretty upset right now but the play was correct and it was just unfortunate he got hit by the cooler! He really did us proud and anybody who knows him will agree he deserved a great showing.

Brandon finished 22nd and takes home $11,701.00

Great job Brandon!!!
